Built in the 1820’s this beautiful home is a lovely late Georgian house with spectacular views over the North Cotswold countryside. Peacefully secluded – set in ancient parkland and surrounded by a wild garden, private arboretum and working farm – this much loved family home is available for short term rental.
Typically Georgian, the house has large, well proportioned and elegant rooms decorated over time by our family in a unique mix of classical and modern styles. Plenty of room, fireplaces and a friendly atmosphere make it the perfect house for a weekend get together or a family holiday.
Downstairs, leading off a large open hallway there is a modern family kitchen for 12 and an additional catering kitchen, larger groups can use the more formal dining room. A large drawing room with a grand piano, a smaller sitting room for a quiet chat or an afternoon with a book, a TV room and snooker room with a full size table.
The Manor can sleep a maximum of 18 in four ensuite bedrooms and a further five bedrooms sharing two bathrooms. All have super comfy beds and amazing views.
The Gardens
The garden door leads out onto a large stone flagged terrace and a huge flat lawn, with wonderful unspoilt views over Meon Hill. In the 12 acres of private garden immediately surrounding the house there is a large a heated swimming pool and a hard tennis court.
Further afield – in the handsome landscaped grounds – one can enjoy walks through the arboretum and around the lake. We grow cut flowers for the house and there is seasonal fruit and vegetables available from the kitchen garden.
Weddings
The Manor is available for occasional and exclusive weddings for up to 150 guests. This includes the use of the house for accommodation and grounds for a reception or party. We are not a slick wedding venue, rather, a graceful country house which is formal, convivial and very private.
Retreats
The house and grounds are well suited for retreats and we regularly host groups for general wellbeing, yoga and interior design. Our large rooms and beautiful gardens are ideal for sharing ideas, creative thinking and group.
